Michael Jordan made his Olympic debut at the 1984 Games, when the United States held its first Olympic basketball competition. Shortly after being drafted to the NBA, Jordan faced-off with NBA All-Stars like Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, and Isiah Thomas in a series of exhibition games. Defying expectations, Team USA (a roster of college players led by Jordan) defeated the NBA greats in every single game. Michael Jordan would go on to average 17 points per game in the Olympics to lead the U.S. Team to the gold medal.
